Help Phone locking only on boot or after a set time ???

I really like my new phone but since I'm a safety freak, I got the phone safe with a PIN number, but the problem isn't the PIN number but the fact that I have to type the damn PIN number each time I want to play with my phone, thank god I don't have to type my PIN to receive a call at least, what I would like is a way to set if the lock will be on or off and based on a timer lets say after 1-2 minutes auto lock the screen so if someone get my phone they won't be able to do anything with it, is there an app for this, my phone is rooted and using Gingerbread 2.3.4

If you like safety, but don't like entering the pin, why not configure the phone with a pattern lock?

Phone Settings menu -> Location and Security -> Change screen lock.

sounds like what you want is a proximity sensor. Maybe a fingerprint scanner? I *think* they have them on some phones...
