Help Phone locks if I'm not the one who ends the call

If I'm the one who ends a call by clicking the "End Call" button, my phone functions normally (e.g. If the phone wasn't locked before the call, it isn't locked after the call. If it was locked before the call it goes back to the lock screen).

However, if the call doesn't end by me clicking the "End Call" button, whether it be a dropped call or the other person hangs up, my S3 goes to the lock screen. Any ideas why?

I'm on US Cellular.

That is how Android is set up. Not a bug, a feature.
