Phone Lost All Apps on SD Card

I'm cross-posting this from the Epic 4G Touch forums:

I have no idea what happened, but I looked down at my phone at some point today and noticed that most of the apps on my home screen where just he Android icon. I go to my app folder and it lists most apps in gray and says SD Card next to them. Including Play Store, or whatever it's called.

I pulled the SD Card out, loaded it into my computer and I can still see the files, so I don't think the card's corrupted. I can't just install the apps over again though, because Android Market is also gone.

The phone left me stranded as I rely on it for Google Navigation all the time... Ideas? Thanks!

So there looks to be nothing wrong with your SDcard but your Android does not display its contents correctly?
Reboot Android.

Correct. I power cycled the phone, unseated and reseated the sd card, swapped batteries, and no changes.

Can i install Google Play anywhere? I can't seem to even get that to reinstall the basic apps. Thanks!

Hmm! At this point I would consider resetting to factory settings. I hope you have solid backup data set.
If that doesn't work either I would take it in for service.
