Phone memory glitch. Reset phone?

So google tells me that the 'disappeared' space on my phone seems to be a problem with uninstalling/installing apps. I've avoided a factory reset for a while now but it seems like I've had to remove everything to get the 'low memory' warning to go away.

So the last resort is a factory reset...How do I go about this with making sure I don't lose anything? Thank you vm.

Sms back up to.. Well back up your messages.

My Back Up to back up apps.
This won't back up app data though.

I think that's about it really, don't think there is much else since you ain't rooted.
