Help Phone model feature or am I missing something?

I just switched from a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to the LG G4. One thing that I miss from my Note 3 is that the screen would activate briefly on incoming texts. If I didn't unlock the phone to read the text, it would go back to "sleep". Is this feature only on Samsung phones or is there something similar on the LG? That's the one feature I miss most that I haven't figured out yet.

Can't comment on the stock messaging app on the G4, but if you switch to Textra, that has an option to wake up the screen when you receive a message.

If you like the stock G4 app, I'm pretty sure you can configure the screen to come on if you use Light Flow to handle your notifications instead of your messaging app.

Thanks, El Presidente. I downloaded Light Flow Lite (seemed to be sufficient for my needs) and went through the set up for the alerts I want and it's not working. It's no different than before installing Light Flow. I guess it's an LG thing I have to live with. Thanks anyway.

If you do want to try another SMS App, textra will definitely do what you're asking.
