On my Blackview A90 I've tried two different types of USB-C headphone adapters that include a charging port. Neither charges the phone. Does anyone have a suggestion as to why, and is there a solution?

Why? Is there a known problem with doing so?Yes, don't use a headphone USB C adapter to charge the device.
Your Sinophobia is prejudicing your ability to write a reasoned comment. 'Cheap Chinese' labour no doubt built your own phone. As for '"off brand": who decides which brands are off or on? Apple is built in China by FoxConn; Samsung is also heavily reliant on low-paid Chinese labour.

That is the solution and no I don't know why.Yes, don't use a headphone USB C adapter to charge the device.
Thanks for that response. I never thought of that limitation, you could well be correct. It doesn't have wireless charging. I could use my Bluetooth earphones, that is true. I think you've explained it.The problem could be the phone's USB type-C doesn't support simultaneous charging and USB audio output. It's one or the other, but not both at the same time.
For a solution, does the Blackview A90 have wireless charging capabilities, or use Bluetooth headphones with it?
https://androidforums.com/threads/off-brand-phones-and-tablets-worth-the-low-cost.631594/Well, you still didn't define 'on brand' or 'off brand'. I doubt that Blackview regards itself as any kind of cheap knock-off. Big companies started small, and the leading brands have all had their problems. As for getting parts: Apple, for example, bitterly opposed the EU's proposals to allow customers to repair their own phones.
It doesn't apply to Blackview at all. The piece claims, for example, "the phones will not come with Google Play". It does, along with everything else one would expect from a SIM-free phone costing £90. Reviews of the A90 in the press and from users were largely positive before I bought it. I have had it for nearly a year, no problems at all, it has all the features I need and I'm happy with it. That article seems, so far as I can tell with my limited knowledge, poorly researched and brazenly Sinophobic:https://androidforums.com/threads/off-brand-phones-and-tablets-worth-the-low-cost.631594/
its an old thread, but it still applies.
These devices are knock offs of real released smart phones... There's a world of difference between a foreign built and controlled factory and a Chinese one
The protests in China and the lifting of Zero-COVID - World Socialist Web Site (wsws.org)Last Tuesday, thousands of workers at the Foxconn sweatshop in Zhengzhou protested against their horrendous conditions and lack of pay. The facility, where up to 350,000 workers produce roughly half of the world’s Apple iPhones, has been under a closed-loop system since October due to a COVID-19 outbreak. In order to maintain production, workers have been confined in prison-like conditions at the factory instead of being sent home.
The modern snobbery from American users of smartphones is sadly reminiscent of that displayed by their predecessors who proclaimed Japanese ships and cars to be 'crappy'.Geez somebody is sensitive about china.
You have to admit that there are a tons of crappy products coming out of china and taiwan, both in phones and pretty much everything else that just suck in quality and performance.
And it's not hating on the Chinese people, it's these products that flood places like Wish, Ebay, and Amazon.
As the image I uploaded shows, these adaptors - which are commonly available - are designed to permit users to listen to audio on the phone whilst charging it.In your instance, is sounds like those adapters apparently don't actually have the necessary power pins. Or please specify, are their 'charging' ports supposed to work as charging the phone (input) or for power delivery (output)? Are you sure they're not intended to be for data transfer only?
