Hello everyone,
I am having an issue rooting my HTC Incredible S. When I connect it, I get a little bubble pop up telling me that my device isn't recognized.
I have downloaded the Java Developer Kit and the Android Developer Kit, and have downloaded all the drivers required to root my phone using the SuperOneClick method.
When I check my device manager, there is a drop down menu under "Android Phone", with five separate instances of "Android Composite ADB Interface", as well as an icon indicating there is an issue with the driver. There is also a like icon next to "Unknown Device" under my USB controllers.
Updating these drivers results in a message saying I already have the most up-to-date drivers for the device.
Attempting to root my phone using SuperOneClick results in five error messages saying I don't have the drivers installed for Android Composite ADB Interface, then asking if I would like to forcefully install a driver for it. Clicking yes gives a message saying there is no more data available, and clicking no skips it.
The rooting process then gets stuck at "Starting ADB Server...". I have left it for ten minutes at a time with no progress, so I force close the application.
I have tried several different USB cables, as well as every USB port on my computer. I have even tried doing the same process on my roommate's computer, and I received the exact same errors.
On a similar note, when my phone is connected to my pc via USB cable, moving the phone even slightly will result in a rapid series of USB disconnection and connection sound cues.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
