Hi, I have read through lots of threads to do with MTP connection errors with the USB, but I am not sure if that is the issue I have.
What has happened:
My phone would sometimes see the charging power cable as a USB computer device, and I would just exit the 'kies' screen. Now (about a week later) I am trying to do a firmware update to see if I can fix this as well as the lagging problems, and now it won't see the USB connection as a USB connection, it just keeps thinking it is just charging.
I have tested the cable (it was the one that came with the box) with another samsung galaxy s, and it picks up that computer, but no matter what computer I connect it in to (have tried 3 computers, running 3 different windows operating systems, XP, Vista and Windows 7) and each have the same result. It doesn't try to install any drivers, it just says that there was a malfunction with the USB device and to plug it in again ("USB device not recognised").
I have tried turning my phone off and back on again, I have tried doing that with the computers, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Kies. I have tried selecting to be questioned on USB connection on my SGS, Kies, and also have tried the mass storage.
Its sending me insane! I'm ready to throw it across the room, please help!!
