Help phone number not on sim card galaxy s3

i have just brought a samsung galaxy s3 on contract on three network when i opened the sim it hasnt got the phone number stamped on it but the pay as you go sim i got with it has every other phone ive bought has the phone number on the sim or the card its locked toanyone who knows if this is right i would be gratefull thanks.

I've never seen a phone number stamped on the sim card. Usually just the sim number. I have no phone number stamped on my 3 UK sim

Never once had a sim with a phone number on it. They have the sim identifier # but no phone number.

me neither. ...and I have seen a LOT of SIMs

thanks for that but phone number should be on the card which the sim is attached to though when its new i believed just seems funnt the pay and go sim has that i got with the phone but not the contract sim i got with the phone thanks.

Ditto most of the above- recently got 2 GS3s & no number on the SIM. My number did show up int the "phone info" part of the settings menu, but it took about a day- before that, it just said "unknown". call a friend & see what number comes up!

I'm pretty sure I remember the first couple of phones I had on payg Vodafone had the phone number on the SIM but I don't recall it on any contact or payg I've had since. Maybe they stopped printing it on as the majority of people take their old number with them these days.

Could be- it also might be a security thing...
