Help Phone or dialer app

Don't know how but I've lost my phone dialer app, its disappeared from my dockbar and is not in my app drawer any more, can see it in the remove app screen but can't do anything with it there, and can't access it anywhere else, downloaded a dialer app for the mean time but is not the same and there's issues with my contacts, oh have lost my contacts app as well, any info on how to get the og dialer app back???

I'd say factory reset...

Or read this thread a bit... seems like a somewhat common problem. Reinstalling the PHONE APK file might fix it, but someone on here that is rooted would need to upload the files for you..

NOTE : This THREAD does not relate to the EVO V... so ANY files that they have available would not be good to install. I'll mention in the ROOTING thread if someone can attach the APK for CONTACTS and PHONE.

so ive noticed i cant even add or modify my contacts, even with other dialer/ contacts apps, have tried syncing w/ gmail account removing account then readding it, taking the battery out, lol, and from manage apps in settings menu, disabling and re enabling, clearing data, stopping,..... confused havent done anything that would have removed it, at least not i noticed, willing to try factory reset but wondering if that will have any effect with my activation... already activated but wondering if ill have to activate again after resetting, again any info is appreciated

factory reset cleared it all up
