Help Phone randomly shuts off!!

Hello everyone I have a samsung galaxy s2 brand new only had it for about 10 days. Just today it started randomly shutting off. It has done it about 3 times so far today and I am not happy! This is not something you should expect from a 500+ dollar phone! I am rooted using epic venum lean ek02 rom. This never happened before I was rooted but I was not running stock very long maybe 3 days. Could it be the rom is bad? One thing I should mention is that yesterday I tried using custom animations using the app metamorph but my wifi stopped working so I did a nandroid restore. It never had any problems prior to trying the animations. Should I try reflashing the rom and starting from scratch? Is this a known problem with this phone? This is not something I will put up with if it is I may switch to the Iphone. Please help me I love this phone but I will not put up with this crap every minute.

Sorry for the harsh words, I'd never go apple over android! I was just having a tough day! But ya any advice on this shutting down randomly would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe this is a common problem with the E4GT, so I'd suspect you have either a faulty version of Android or bad hardware. I'd certainly try going back to a stock version of the OS if that's possible. Might also check to make sure your battery is secure ... I've seen other phones where an intermittent battery connection made it reboot. If it's still happening, take it back?

I did check the battery and it is completely secure. I think it is a problem with the way I restored because it definitely isnt running the same. It gets a tad laggy sometimes. battery life is far worse than it was. I think I am going to just reflash the rom but my question is should I go back to the same rom or try a new one? What is everyones favorite rom out right now? I have heard allot of good things about the Caulkins but I checked it out and it looks basically the same as stock and that is not what I want. I love the Venum rom because it has a really awesome theme and Icons.

Nope, I did not( I know, rookie mistake) but this morning I actually flashed a new rom the Phantom Hackers Blazer rom and this time I wiped delvic cache and cache partition and it seems to be running very good. I am pretty sure the problem was because I messed up somewhere with the restore because like I said it definitely was not running like its usual self after that. I will keep you posted as to how it is holding up but if anyone hasnt checked out that blazer rom they should. It is really fast, great animations. Love all the options right from the drop down menu! Keep up the good work Phantom Hacker!

Any and every time you do anything in recovery:
Make a backup FIRST, even if you think there is a problem with your system. Better to have a malfunctioning phone than a bricked one.

Always wipe dalvik cache when restoring or flashing a new rom. Always. Or you will possibly end up with a severely malfunctioning UI or a bootlooping phone. Not fun.

I would also suggest storing tar files of rooms and kernels that work well on your computer, this way no matter what happens you can as a last resort use Odin to fix your phone.
