Help Phone randomly Shutsoff

Hey for some reason my Galaxy s3 keeps on shutting off by itself. I am wondering why is it doing this. I tried to root it awhile back but never could get it to work this was probably about 3 months ago. And i am now just starting to get random shut downs. And when this happens I have to put my phone on the charger in order to keep it on and working.

I have tired a Factory Reset and a Hard reset threw the recovery and it still does this. I am wondering what is my problem?

So you have multiple batteries? You said you have to put your phone on the charger for it to stay on and working.

No I only have one battery. My brother has a S3 and i tired out his battery in my phone and it did the same thing.
Yeah I have to keep my phone on the charger in order for it to work and sometimes when it charges to 100% it will stay on for a little without the charger. I also notice when it does shut off randomly it wont turn back on it will just boot the Samsung logo and shut back off.

I had the same thing start happening after the Kit Kat update. I did a hard reset, and it still happens, just much less frequently. I also called AT&T and Samsung to alert them to the issue, but who knows if they cared.

I just bought a new Motherboard off Ebay and going to put that in and call it a day. Because i cant figure out what is wrong.

So you fixed it? I was just going to suggest checking the battery terminals in the phone and make sure that they are making a good connection with the battery. Maybe the battery was moving a little and the contacts would lose connection.

The battery is fine. I have changed battery's and it still does this.

And if the battery terminals aren't making good connection like suggested then simply changing to a different battery that still wouldn't make good connection wouldn't fix a thing.

I had a similar problem, It didn't matter what I was doing with my phone, in my pocket or actually using it, it would shut off and get stuck in a boot loop randomly. I took it into a repair shop seeing as Samsung were about as helpful as throwing a drowning man both ends of the rope.
The shop said it was most likely the main board giving up the ghost, luckily I was covered by the Samsung warranty so they replaced the phone for free.
