Help Phone rebooting while installing (or updating) apps

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 (GT-S7270).
It's been working fine for a while, but recently, it developed a strange and very annoying habit of rebooting when I'm installing or updating apps. The problem doesn't happen all the time, but the frequency is alarming.

Some apps never succeed in installing, no matter how many times I try (facebook, Clean Master...).
Other apps needed a few retries after each reboot to finally install them (messenger, viber...).
Some apps install or update without problems at times.
If the phone reboots when updating a new app, the app disappears afterwards, and re-installing it might not work on the first try.

I do all my app business via the official "Play Store" app. The app always finishes downloading, then begins installation, after which the screen turns black and the Samsung logo appears, declaring a reboot.

I tried resetting my mobile to factory settings; twice. But the problem persisted.
I just can't figure out the reason. I tried removing the battery, removing the SD card, switching between wifi and data internet, but the phone kept rebooting.

Anybody got a clue why this is happening, and if there's anything I can do about it???

Thanks a lot.

Does it reboot at any other time, e.g. when the cpu is being exercise?

If you've done a factory reset then logically there are two possibilities: a bug in the system software itself, or a hardware fault.

Hello Hadron, thanks for the reply. Currently it does not reboot at any other times...
My mobile was rooted and running perfectly for 6 months, but then I unrooted and hard resetted and everything, to no avail. You think the root somehow bricked my system? Everything else is working splendidly except the occasional rebooting problem...
Will flushing my ROM back to official firmware and such change anything you think?
Thanks a lot!

Rooting by itself shouldn't cause this (and didn't for 6 months), but it's possible that rooting then unrooting has left something in an odd state. Hard reset doesn't touch the /system partition, which is where the root/unroot made modifications.

If it started with the unrooting then there's a good chance that flashing back to official will fix it. Flashing a new custom ROM would probably fix it as well.

Ah I think I wasn't very clear, I'm sorry.
I only unrooted after the problem started appearing, in an attempt to fix the problem...
Do you think flashing a new ROM will be useful? Cause really I'm getting tired of resetting my mobile!
Again thank you for taking the time to look into my problem!

Ah, so the problem developed while rooted. If it's software based then either a new ROM (clean install) or flashing to stock should fix it: either will format the system partition then install a new set of software (flashing to stock will probably replace absolutely everything - it certainly does on the HTCs I'm most familiar with).

I think I will try to do this, yes, it's my last hope for now.
Do you know where I can find a database containing the stock or custom ROM for Ace 3 mobile?
I tried searching around but it's all scam storage sites asking me to register or wait...

Hi iStar, I am having the same problem with my Ace 3 phone. Even when i try to uninstall apps the phone reboots. Have you found a solution for the problem??

Download ur firmware for the device u r having and then flash.... if no stock is available, then u can move on to CUSTOM rom. For installing custom rom smoothly, u would need a TWRP/CWM Recovery( for ignoring SIGNATURE VERIFICATION )

Unfortunately nothing worked, not even after flashing back the Stock ROM.
Looks like a hardware issue. I have since long stopped trying to fix it and bought another mobile...
