Phone Reboots when USB connected

Hi.

When I plug my HTC Desire into my PC, the phone appears to reboot before it shows up as a drive in Windows.

Any ideas?

It happens on all PCs and I've tried other USB cables.

What happens if you shut phone off, then connect to PC and turn phone on?
