Phone saying 8GB card is 14GB???

Hi there, only had the Xperia play 2 days and noticed a strange problem.
Is there any reason why my 8gb micro sd is showing as a 14gb card in android 2.3 under the settings?
Have freshly formatted it and its been recognised, just the wrong size?

Anyone help?

If possible let a computer format the memory card instead of the play . Might be something wrong in the memorycard.

Who makes the card buddy. Had this problem with a poor quality card i bought recently
