Help Phone says it is charging but it's discharging?

Hi everyone,

I have SGIII for metro and it's running CM10. When the phone is "charging" it is actually discharging. I left my phone "charging" for one hour and I notice the phone go from 36% to actually 31%. Any thoughts? I cleared battery stats via cwm. and changed chargers too.

Have you tried a different battery? Your battery may have gone bad and isn't taking a charge.

Or perhaps something is using a lot of battery? all wiping battery stats does is lose you that information though. It does nothing usefully

A lot of users hate hearing thing, but factory resetting will wipe any rouge app that might be causing the battery hemorrhaging. If that doesn't fix it, then it's hardware.

This happened with my wife's phone. I power cycled the phone and tried a different charger and it worked like a charm.

You have to make sure what ever your usb cable is plugged into can supply up to 1amp or 1000ma,

USB ports and chargers were originally designed to only supply .5amps or 500ma.

Many newer computers and chargers now supply 1amp but many still do not.

i had the exact same issue with my phone as well but for me the official charger that came with the phone refused to work and another charger worked. I ended up re installing my firmware(omega rom) and it started working again. otherwise try Gsam Battery monitor to check whats using your battery.
