Help Phone says WI-FI is Disabled.

Xyno

Lurker
So, just recently I have had the problem of not being able to connect to my Wi-FiAll my other devices work.

My Wi-Fi shows up as "excellent". However, every time it says authenticating, it will stop and say disabled. Then, it will try to re-connect with the Wi-Fi again.

My device hasn't had any problems for a very long time. My plan is expired, however, and the phone is very old, but that hasn't stopped me from connecting to Wi-Fi.

The device is a Samsung S 4G, Exclusively from T-Mobile.

Model number SGH-T959V, Firmware 2.3.6, Baseband T959VUVKJ6, Kernel 2.6.35.7-T959VUVKJ6-CL694130, and the Build number is GINGERBREAD.VUVKJ6

I have tried literally everything I know. Reboot, taking the battery out, forgetting the Wi-Fi, turning Wi-Fi off. reading the password, using airplane mode, and even factory resetting the phone. Nothing works. Hope somebody can help, thanks.

If nobody can, I understand because this is a really old phone.

Have you tried connecting your S4 to a different WiFi network? That would help narrow down if the issue might be your phone's WiFi is actually the problem.
You might also want to try rebooting your S4 into Safe Mode. If your WiFi connects in Safe Mode that might indicate a problem with some app that's causing your problem.

I have tried connecting to a different network. I'll try the other suggestion.

I had a problem with my Samsung phone where it just would not connect to the internet. I ended up calling their help line and the guy I spoke to was quite helpful.

If you pull down your notifications by swiping down from the top of the screen, there is a ribbon along the top with the options to disable a whole load of functions. In my case I had somehow inadvertently disabled "mobile data" and this did not seem to appear in any other place. The thing is there are a shed load of things you can disable from this ribbon so it's always something to check.
