Help Phone Settings

Hello All,

I was wondering if there is anyway to change how the phone notifies me of phone calls, text, messages, and email. Basically, I would like for my phone to ring when i get a phone call, vibrate when i get a text message and email. I was able to do this with my blackberry, but can't seem to get my T-mobile MyTouch4G to do this. Maybe there is an app to do this?

Thank You for reading this and responding,

Andrew M.

Yes you can...you have to do it in the settings for those apps.

Example:
Open messaging> menu> settings> uncheck play notification sound> check vibrate

Do more or less the same for gmail and email app

Yup. theunlockr.com has videos of rooting, flashing roms, and over clocking.

Also the best resource for all things dev. is at xda forums in the htc glacier section.

Or search mytouch 4g on youtube and there are many videos on rooting and customization.

I have a Motorola Mileston with Android. I can do exactly what you say, but when I have my phone set to vibrate on the side, it DOES NOT ring when I get a text. I would like it to. Is this possible?

If you have the vibrate switch ON, then its in a vibrate mode no matter what your settings are. The same as putting your phone on silent mode, regardless of the setting it will not make sound or vibrate. If you want everything on vibrate but have a sound nitification for text then you need the phone in ring mode, have all the notifications set to silent/vibrate and have your text notification on.
