Help phone shell wearing off

On the bottom corners of the back of the phone the phone shell is discoloring from sitting it on the table... anyone else?
 
Not me, but mine's scratched along the lower edge of the camera bulge - from sitting on the table and being put in and out of pockets.
 
i was worried about that. Sometimes phones with a gun metal type finish will wear off the top layer. How bad is it?
 
Mine its wearing off too pretty bad and I hardly ever sit it on a table. Not looking too good for the other 23 months!
 
Its not that bad, I mean there is a slight discoloration. There is nothing bad to say about the build quality. I think it's just the color. This thing is built really well. I will still not have a case, I want no more bulk.
 
I went ahead and ordered a case. I normally don't care about cosmetic things like this, but just in case I feel tempted to get the galaxy nexus at some point, I want to be able to sell my razr in like new condition. It'll be nice to have a little bit of protection on the phone either way just in case of drops and whatnot. I got the diztronic case on amazon.
 
Not really, it will still be thinner and lighter than any other phone with a case on it. Hell, with a case on the Razr might even still be thinner and lighter than many phones without one on.

thats like saying that adding safety, and therefore weight from seatbelts, airbags and roll cages to a car defeats the purpose of having a lot of torque. Yeah it's a small step backwards, but that doesn't make it a bad decision....
 
I got the Otter box Commuter. Comes with a nice screen protector and is very well built. It adds bulk, but not too much and I like not having to baby it.
 
I have always hated cases but the shell and holster is the way to go. the shell has a built in stand and is great for when I'm at work. I can also go with or without the holster and if you open the stand you can slide a finger behind it and makes it very secure when your walking and texting. No fear of possibly dropping your new toy.

I had that case for my droid x and loved it. Bought one for gf's iPhone too. One thing I didn't like was that the case didn't protect corners very well. For this reason I got the high gloss silicone case instead. It wraps phone well and provides a better grip as well as a lip around front face and corners on phone.
