Help Phone shuts down after taking a picture.

I've had my phone since Nov last year. Just purchased a new OEM battery a couple of weeks ago as the original battery's life was getting bad.

In the past week, about 50 percent of the time I take a picture my phone shuts down and won't start back up by pressing the power button. I have to take out the battery and put it back in. Anyone know what's going on?

The battery you purchased, are you sure it's an OEM? Where'd you buy it? I've seen some reports of knock-off batteries causing all sorts of problems, up to and including ruing the device it's in.

Amazon is usually a safe bet, but,if it shipped from a 3rd party, all bets are off.
Sounds like you got a dud,a slightly loose-fitting battery,as the only time the phone turns off is when you (presumably) flip it around to landscape mode to snap a pic.
Place a small piece of paper in the battery compartment,or wedge it so the battery doesn't have the potential to shift in the pocket.

I'm gonna try switching the pictures from saving on chip to saving on phone hard drive. Maybe that will do the trick....

Aaah, well if you have your camera app set to save to your SD card, then that could indicate your card is going bad.

Same problem here. Genuine Sammie battery. Just bought a new high speed Sammy card, saving all pics to that card. Wonder if it has anything to do with my "Pleson" Wireless Charger card, which is used for the Qi charger stand?
