Help Phone Shutting Off

It seems within the past week or two, my phone is beginning to turn itself off. Alot of times when it seems to happen I would have the phone in my pants pocket and I thought it was turning off when I sit, but just now, while sitting on the table, it turned off. Again, just now, I opened the keyboard and closed it, it was powered off. I have to press the power button to turn it back on.

Nothing special has changed. It's not rooted and never have. I wonder since the phone will be 2 yrs old, come December, if it's just time for a new one or would it need a new battery?

Just seems strange since my 2 yr contract is coming to an end, and I will be looking for a new phone.

This might be caused by an installed application. Check to see which app(s) you've recently installed prior to when you start noticing this problem.

I have noticed that these phones start to act really funny after a year and a half of daily usage. I would also recommend getting another device if you are eligible for an upgrade.

I hope you get things back on track.

I'm thinking the mfg/carriers may make the phones act strange around the time people are due for upgrades. I don't put it past companies now days to do these type of things.

I've stopped installing new stuff awhile ago but did install a couple of apps to connect with my job's exchange server for work email. I'll look through the installed apps and see what I've installed recently that I can uninstall.

My phone does the same thing, well this is my third phone in less than two years. Had to replace my original phone due to the battery port going dead, then had to replace the replacement phone due to the same probelm. Anyways, about the phone turning off, I thought to it was caused by the phone being in my pocket. I realize now that is not the cause. I have tried 4 different batteries, getting the phone to turn on for about 5-10 minutes. Then it just keeps rebooting itself.
