Phone slowing down

I had a problem with app updates failing to complete so I followed the various procedures suggested, clearing cache and data from Play Store, Download Manager, Play Services and doing Uninstall Updates in Play Store.
After all this the app updates (37 of them) completed OK but now the phone runs very slowly. Any ideas?

how much storage room do you have left? if it is nearing being full then your phone will most definitely slow down.

Internal storage has plenty free but SD card is full. I could move some off the card?

Indeed with the cable media transfer on your usb connection, via p.c. Also by accident I found this one app only for my tablet, and it will allow you to transfer one decive sd card to the other, forgot what it is called now..

Stay minimalist, uninstall all the apps you don't need.

Some resident apps like antivirus or app-locking apps could significantly slow your phone down if its hardware specs are outdated.
