I was in a pub tonight and there was a guy in there with a pretty girl and when he got his phone out it was an absolute piece of cheese - physical keyboard with blue lights and a tiny screen. I chuckled to myself. Should I feel bad about this?

Yes...yes you should feel bad for squashing the dreams of this person who so tragically wants to be hip, I mean "BLUE LIGHTS", how much cooler could you get!

You should feel ashamed, very ashamed...:p;)

LOL... a phone is just a device..

we should not judge a book by its cover. or person by their phone.
there are many that dont put much stock to the things we like.. and vise versa.

besides.. it was not an iphone!

True but then a Ferrari or a Lamborhini are both devices :)

Was this the guy ? :secruity: :D

I'm on the look out for a 4" phone with a landscape slider keyboard. Can't type on these blasted touch screens. I make an unbelievable amount of errors.

you would have laughed even harder had you met someone like me two years ago--seems much longer-oh well i was some luddite who hated tech (the failings of an early adopter in the late 1990s during the whole Pocket PC phase was invoked by the ads for 'smartphones' which were new in the mid-2000s) and i carried around a still-working Nokia 5185i, Verizon CDMA Digital/AMPS phone. hey it made and took calls, sent SMS messages, and even played snake...worked on Page Plus (Verizon themselves hated it as it wasn't e911 capable)

my first smartphone was a iPhone 3GS (don't laugh!) then my first android was a LG Optimus V. haven't looked back since.

I heard of this a while and am hoping it comes to Bell Canada.

I just found out that my US carrier is getting a slider called the LG Mach, and it looks pretty good, we'll be checking that one out. Hopefully, we'll all see more slider choices, they definitely have some big advantages.

maybe it was his backup phone? i once sent iphone to apple for a replacements but my older iphone unfortunately didnt have any juice.. and i had to go out.. so i found this phone :D which had 30% of charge.

I heard of LG coming out with a landscape keyboard slider. I believe it is CDMA only, so it likely won't be available in Canada (unless they make a GSM version).
