Help phone speed

Hi there i have just recently purchased a samsung galaxy s phone it has the latest firmware installed but i want to know how i can make it faster or is there anything i can dicard on the phone to do this

What version of the firmware are you running? The latest depends on where you got the phone from. Is is 2.1, 2.2, 2.2.1, 2.3.3?

If you have an unlocked international version (i9000) you can consider flashing a custom fast ROM like Darky's .
