Root Phone stuck in boot loop, help? Linux solutions ideally.

Hi,

I was wondering if you guys would be able to help me. I've looked through the forums and there are allot of similar threads with peoples who's phones are stuck in a boot loop and only able to open to bootloader menu, however after trying a couple of solutions I have been unable to get my phone to boot up correctly. It occasionally does manage too load up but usually crashes fairly quickly and then enters the boot loop again.

When I get to the boot loader menu I get the following information at the top:

***LOCKED***
K2_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.00.0000
RADIO-1.18.40a.00.05
OpenDSP-v13.2.0268.0620
eMMC-boot

To make things even more difficult, I don't have a windows machine and am running linux (ubuntu specifically). Allot of the information on here is directed at windows or mac users but I was wondering if any one would be able to provide me with a linux solution?

Thank you in advance.

It appears to have never been rooted.

Begin by trying to boot with the sd card removed, report back.

If it fails, go from HBOOT to RECOVERY, erase cache, reboot, see if it works.

If that fails, I can give some Linux pointers on rooting an HTC - I don't normally use Windows.

I actually ended up resorting to doing a factory rest (not ideal but its too late now).

Is there any advice you could give me to stop this happening again? This is the second time now so I'm assuming it's something slightly more serious than it updating incorrectly?

Did your phone die in the middle of update.curious cause it appears your phone wasn't modified.only way I can think an update would cause a boot loop.
