Help Phone switched off message when people try to call me

Hi,

Im facing a strange bug on my Galaxy Note since the last few days. When people try to call me, they get a message that my phone is switched off. I also cannot make any outgoing calls. If I try to call, the calling screen appears and nothing happens, not even the dial tone. The solution is to restart the phone.
This problem is intermittent but has happened quite frequently..

I think it started after the recent firmware upgrade (im not sure though).
Is anybody else facing this problem? Is it a software problem or hardware? What is the solution?

Any updates on this guys? This intermittent problem is still happening.is it a software issue or network problem? My phone doesn't give any indication that my network is off.no emergency calls only status, nothing.

Not had this on my note but something similar used to happen on my N900. It would seem to loose connection to the SIM. It was always visible via a notification icon though that there was no SIM.

I've lost connection to the network on my Note but that was just a black spot I was traveling through and again easily noticeable in the notification bar.

Even I am facing this problem with my Galaxy Note. Just bought it 10 days back and upgraded to the latest Android update.

Any help will be appreciated.

It maybe a network signal problem.

I suggest setting the phone to either 'GSM only' or 'WCDMA only' (and not combined 'gsm/wcdma')


(settings/mobile network/network mode/ gsm only or WCDMA only




Try it and see which one is better for signal and let us know how you get on.
