Help Phone takes too long to "think"

rerun912

Lurker
When I receive a phone call and slide my finger to answer, my phone will freeze up. Often causing whoever is calling to hang up. Also, when I make a phone call it takes a very long time to connect and the audio is very low. I usually have to select speaker and then turn the speaker phone off to get normal call volume. I'm at the end of my rope.......could be joining the iphone forums soon.

I was seeing vaguely similar symptoms - phone taking much longer than I expect to trigger a phone call when I press on the buttons which place calls. I also discovered that suddenly my battery started draining quickly (I have an extended life Gorilla Gadgets battery), from lasting a whole day to lasting about 4 hours.

Given a hint from some post that I read, I checked syslog (I use the app "OS Monitor") and found that part of my problem was that I'd configured my integrated Outlook email to sync folders way too often; when I cut that back (e.g. from having 7 days worth of data synch'ed to my local Sent folder in the background, to having 3 days sych'ed, when manually requested) my call performance came back and my battery life went back to normal.

Still there are messages in the syslog that I'm concerned about - I think I'll post them in another thread, so I don't take away from your OP.
