Help Phone thinks headphones are plugged in.

My phone thinks I plugged in my headphones, but I didn't. Notifications and ringtones still work, but I have to put all my calls on speaker phone.

Has anyone else had this happen? Does anyone know a way to fix it without going through all the trouble of unbricking?

I recall someone having the same or quite similar problem.. been a while back. I think they did a factory reset to set things right. Good luck.

Factory reset did the trick. Before doing the reset I tried restoring a back-up that was made this morning before the problem showed up but that didn't fix it.

After doing the factory reset I restored my backup and the problem hasn't returned.

I had this problem today and was able to fix it with compressed air by blowing it into the headphone jack.

This happened on my Moto X Play and I was kind of alarmed, given I had just finally rooted it the other day. But as Jayzee mentioned, blowing into the audio jack fixed it. Cheers from canada
