Help Phone turning off after update.

I recently updated my optimus l9 to android version 4.1.2, because i became tired of seeing the update window come up. However, starting just after i finished the update, my phone DISPLAY will not work if the display is turned off for more than a minute or so. If i press the screen off button it will work if i use it again quickly, but after a short period of time the display just won't turn on, and I will have to hold the power button to turn it on again. Sometimes this takes a few presses to get it to respond. This problem does not persist if the phone is charging. I even tried a factory reset, but the problem persists.

Try This

System Settings --->Lock Screen --->Power Button Instantly locks

If this didn't work return it for replacement in any corporate store.

the update didn't do this to any of the 3 phones I had.
