I just noticed my phone is turning itself off after an hour or two of inactivity. Is this normal ? How do I stop that from happening ?

Are you rooted? If not, then the answer is no, this isn't normal. If you are, then it's still not normal but under certain circumstances, very possible to have the phone shut off when in deep sleep.
