Help Phone will not accept charge from external battery.

So simply, bought this phone today. Also, becfause of how I use my phones hard, bought a literal brick of an external battery. Box shows that it is Qualcomm Quick charge certified, but when I plug it in to it to charge, it will start to, and then turn off the external battery seconds later and refuse to charge from it.

So, what's going on here?

I found out, much to my dismay, that the series of battery I was trying to use was unfortunately I'll fated, as many of its rebranded versions on Amazon explicitly list the Moto x pure as unsupported, and reviews online saying this is an all too common problem. Broke down and ordered a new battery to give a go, that was confirmed working from XDA and a user review on Amazon itself from a fellow Pure user. We'll see how it goes.

Wow, that sags huge. How and why a battery pack manufacturer would single out a model for exclusion is beyond me.

That same battery pack that I'd bought in Fry's Electronics I've also found listed on online retailer shops like Amazon. All of them re-brands, I'm sure, and all exhibiting the same behavior. At least the more responsible brand makers are at least spelling out that "this unit does not work with the Moto X Pure" after so many like us with them have been unable to use it at all for this phone.

Mine was branded Tenergy and black, but any that look like this: http://www.amazon.com/10400mAh-Port...=1459964116&sr=1-2&keywords=tenergy+10000+mah are simply not ever going to work with a Moto X Pure; at least, not in any reliable fashion. Some users on XDA were able to try successfully with some different cables, but usually results were far too inconsistent to consider it solved.

We'll see how it works out. I intend on writing up my own review of this phone as soon as I get everything together.
