Phone will show screen then stop showing.

I started using my EVO as a camera so I can see the people coming in and out. I am using Alfred. The phone shut itself down this morning, the app saying it was low power. I left it to charge the whole day, but when I came back to power it on, the screen turned on for half a second then turned off, and now it is unresponsive. Please help.

Hi @AndroidUser56, my first thought is the battery is shot,. but it would help if you added a bit more info....

How old is the phone?
When you say 'started using it as a camera', were you using it regularly up to this point or has it been idle?

Any additional info would help.

I do not know how old it is, and I use it on a regular basis.

Have you noticed any deterioration in battery life prior to this ie needing charge more often?

Have you tried charging it again? If not then it might be worth trying as a next step.

I'm assuming the charge indicator shows the charge progressing.

Have you got another charger/lead to try?

dude that is a super old phone! you will need a new battery from the sounds of it.

I think the battery is original. It is currently plugged in. The charge indicator is not lit. I will try another charger.

If the battery has totally failed the phone won't respond even when plugged in. Like the others that is my best guess at the problem.

Well that's the best guess I can make based on limited information - remote diagnosis is always uncertain. But yeah, it sounds a lot like a dead battery, and the only fix in that case is a new battery.
