Help phone wont reconise sd card

i have a galaxy prevail and it wont reconise any sd card i install. ive tried two sd cards and i get nothing. it comes up and says my sd card is damaged and needs to be formatted. ive tried ti reformat it thru the phone but nothing happens please help

Try formatting it with your pc.Either with a card reader on your pc or through the phone with usb connected.

it wont connect thru usb/phone reformatted thru card reader on comp phone still wont reconise sd card under storage settings with sd card removed mount sd card and format sd card are available and damaged sd card is in my notification menu. with sd card installed, perparing sd card is in my notification menu and mount sd card and format sd card are unavailable

You aren't trying to use 64gig cards are you? Do the cards work when used with a card reader/adapter on your pc?

Some brands of sd-cards just don't work in the Prevail..... ( even if they work with card readers on the computer or in other devices like cameras or MP3 Players..) And..... 64GB cards work in the Preail just fine !

its the same sd card since the phone was bought. i tried a new sd card still same result

Maybe the sd card port on the device is busted? Put in a card the wrong way lately? Had you little brother play with your phone with a thin object? You think there could be a piece of foil stuck in there? Got a flashlight handy?
