Help Phone wont run media scanner.

For about a couple weeks or so my media scanner wont scan new media i add it to the phone the little message pops up it says 0% then goes away after a few seconds. So all the new songs i add dont show up on any of the music players. What is causing this?
 
Ok I fixed it i just went into options and reformatted the sd card only thing i lost was all my music which was probably causing the problem.
