Phone won't stay off during charge.

I have had my x10 for around two weeks.

When I first got it/updated it would stay off while charging and display a charge screen.

I have since rooted and changed the software on the device and it will now not stay off during charge.

The software was changed by changing the product codes and re-updating.


Is there a way to fix this?
 
i have had the same problem, phone will boot fully rather than cut to the "charging" screen on all ROM's since root etc. my guess would be that a fix for 1 ROM would be a fix for all, but i'm no developer!!
 
What about Menu>Settings>Applications>Development is 'Stay Awake' ticked. I know its obvious but sometimes its easy to overlook the obvious.
 
I just got my phone on Sunday and my will not shut off while charging either. I checked on the 'stay awake' thing and mine was not checked s it's not that. Anyone have any other ideas?

I do not like that it does not shut off while charging and this may be my deal breaker. i have 15 days to return my phone if I am not satisfied..right now I am not..and yes for me this is a big thing. It needs to shut off.

Can I ask if you are on Android 2.1 or 1.6, the easiest way to tell is do you have an arc shape unlock or a straight left to right swipe?

On 1.6 the phone doesn't turn off during charging but on 2.1 it should, however as you can see it's a bit quirky. That said my phone is never turned off during the night when I am charging - just placed face down next to my bed in silent mode.
 
This has happened to me for the past few nights lol. I usually leave mine downstairs on airplane to charge but because it hasn't been fully charged I taken to switching it off but the other night I was in bed and suddenly the song I have for my email alert started playing. When I went down to check I discovered that it had switched back on. Last night took 3 attempts to switch off and not come back on. Not a huge inconvenience I know but annoying when after about 8 or 9 hours its not fully charged. I'm rooted with 2.1 btw lol

Ok so I went back to the store today where I bought my phone and the guy said I could up date it and then it would probably work. But he wasn't 100% sure. So while at the mall today, I went to the other Rogers there and the guy told me even if I update it, it still will not shut off while charging and that I should just silence it when I plug it in.

Not the answer I was looking for!

Maybe they should tell you this when you buy the phone!

So is this a side effect of being rooted, having xrecovery, or something else entirely? (JIT?)?

It would be good to know if this is something that could be changed, or written in to custom ROMs

I also tried the stay awake suggestion, but to no avail :(
 
Updated the phone again.

It has a charge screen now instead of fully turning on.

I'm not sure if it was just the update, because i re-rooted using flash tool and installed multitouch.

When plugged in to the computer it displays a charge screen instead.
