Root phone won't turn on after firmware upgrade

Hey, so I was trying to upgrade my firmware to 2.2.1 using odin according to this link

I followed everything precisely and after I got the green light from odin, I unplugged my phone and tried to turn on my phone in the recovery mode (pressing home key + volume up key + power key) to boot the phone. Nothing happened. It won't turn on normally either and doesn't recognize when I try to charge it.

Anyone have this problem before and have an idea how to fix it?

it will turn on in download mode so I think I could reflash it. Does anyone have a link of how to do it, cause I don't completely trust myself

First of all, is your phone a I9000 or one of the Galaxy S variants? I9000 roms do not work on the variants, and vice versa.

If the answer is yes, go to FW Android - www.SamFirmware.com Go to the I9000 page. You will need to create an account first. Afterwards, download the newest version of Odin. Pick a firmware version - JS8 is a good place to start. (Country origin is not too important unless if you want specific languages.) Download it and decompress it once. That should yield 1 or 3 tar files. I can't remember if the JS8 package includes the necessary pit file. If it doesn't you will need to grab it off the same web page. (512.pit only)

Now start up Odin. Put the 512.pit into the pit slot. PDA.tar goes to PDA, csc.tar to csc and etc. Tick repartition but do NOT tick bootloader. Now put your phone in download mode and plug it in. Once it shows up in Odin, flash away. Wait for the flashing to finish and let the phone reboot itself. (No unplugging this time). It should work now.

Please help me I got my galaxy S today it's the I9003, I accidentally flashed the gingerbread update for the I900 to it, it completed ok according to ODIN but the screen on the phone was flashing black and yellow and looked very broken it stayed that way for ages and then went off, now nothing I do will get it to power back up, I can't get it into download mode, it doesn't appear to be charging it just will not do anything.... please please help I've only had it 3 hrs!!!! and I am totally panicking that I've completely killed it.
