Hello everyone,
I took a look at a few other posts, but they either weren't too similar, or weren't answered either.
Problem:
When my phone downloads emails (using POP-3 and a German server called "www.gmx.de"), it marks the emails as read on the server. So even if I don't mark them as read on the phone, when they get downloaded on my computer (using thunderbird), they'll appear already read.
Evidence that it's the phone's fault:
When the phone is turned off this doesn't happen, and my emails are shown correctly as unread on my computer, for any emails that I received since it was turned off.
Scope of consequences:
Important messages can and do go unread, which I can't afford.
One solution would be to stop all syncing of the phone with the server, and only use the computer, but that would be a drastic last option. I'd appreciate it if you could come up with something better
I'm hopeful that you'll help me.
Thanks a lot,
Julian
