why wont my computer hook my phone to it when I use the usb cable?
 
Go to your phone manufacturer's website (on your computer) and download/install the latest phone USB drivers. Reboot the computer, and then connect your phone to it using the supplied USB cable. If your computer has any recent version of Windows, that's all there is to it. Be sure you are using the original OEM cable or one that you are certain carries through all pins end-to-end (some don't).
