Help Phoneutil using too much of my data

Hi,

Basically my s2 is giving me grief because every month it uses too much data.


It just seems to be the above named application which screws me

I normally have my data turned off but sometimes I forget and over night the phoneutil just hammers the allowance

what is it. And what can it be doing?

Note: when i have wifi on I'm not too bothered. But it's the usage of 400mb odd a month that it uses which is annoying. Esp as my data for a month is 750mb

I have never heard of this app, does it show in your market apps or under settings - > applications? You may have to select all to see it.

This is not an app i've downloaded - It's something that's built into the phone

The only reference to it that I can find online is this

On the cell phone, dial the following number: *#7284# Once the last # is hit, the PhoneUtil application is launched
