I took some pictures and videos yesterday and today, and when I go into my gallery they wont display (see attached image). I have looked in myfiles and they wont open and when connected to computer it states images can not be displayed. I desperatly want these Christmas pictures and its stressful. They took ok and appeared in my gallery to start with. I even sent them to a friend and then they dissapeared. My photos save directly to my SD which has plenty of memory so that cant be the problem. No error message comes up when taking a photo. Also if I take a photo through watsapp it saves in my watsapp folder in gallery so really confused.

Its a samsung J5 please any help would be grateful.

Hmmm. It could be a couple of things. I won't suggest the worst one because that would be bad.

I would suggest turning off your phone as soon as possible and removing your SD card and then see if you can read the files in a card reader.
