Photo Numbering Sequence.

After 5 years of iPhone I have finally moved to a Samsung Galaxy S3. I am pleased with every aspect of it EXCEPT the way it numbers photographs. Currently all photographs files are named using a unique date/time string.

Is there any way I can change this to simple sequential numbering?

The images with their unique date/time strings are already in a sequence of course. Who needs more than that
