Why, after transferring to my laptop do some photos show in the wrong orientation?
They look fine on the phone but it is a pain having to manually turn photos around in windows, especially when I have transferred a few hundred photos.
If you are looking at them using windows file explorer, that's your problem there. It doesn't read orientation info from the picture. Open it with a photo editor, like Windows Photo Gallery, and you will see it is in the correct orientation.
I am also having this issue, its not just on a PC - if you look at a picture in the Samsung gallery app on the phone its also in the wrong orientation.
Anyone else know what causes this issue, if you take a few phones in a row 90% of them will be in the right orientation then you come across one that's not.
I've got same prob with video! Shot some great vid of grandchildren in "portrait mode". Plays in either orientation on Note 2 N7105 LTE but when transferred to PC (Windows or Ubuntu 12.04) video need turning clockwise in Windows Live Movie Maker.
