Lurker
Hi all,

Recently I've noticed some pretty bad artifacts showing up on photos (on skin tones) of pictures I've been taking with the camera (auto mode across the board). I see red areas that either make the person look very sunburned, or in shadow areas like under the neck, a much darker red color. It is a real pain to try to clean up in Photoshop.
I see it in scenes with low and adequate light, flash forced on or auto.
Has anyone else seen this?

Hi, No - I haven't seen this. Have you tried playing around with the "auto enhance" setting on/off (under camera options)? It might not hurt to try switching off auto face and smile detect, since the issues you're having are with skin tones and you specifically mentioned the neck area... Additionally, I've found that it takes better pics adjusting the ISO and lighting to specific settings and not use auto anything -- although that's unlikely to be the cause here.
