Photo resolution options

Hi. Is there a way to add resolution options when taking photos. The resolution range for video is more linear, and complete. For photos tho, the available resolutions are only super high res, and super low res. 640x480, 800x480, then a jump to 2048x1232.

It would be great to have a few more settings in between. Anyone know if there is a way to do this? Are we stuck taking higher res and then resizing later?

You could try a different camera app with more settings. Vignette has 4 resolutions, but it's in megapixels, not dimensions.
 
Thanks for the info. I did not even consider a different camera app. From what I could tell they are all post processing filters that will still resize the photo that is taken. This does seem like the best option at present.

Next think I would like to change is to up the jpeg compression. Noisy pics :(
A few minutes of searching for that pointed me at MIUI. I'm not quite ready to root or re-rom and such.
