Photo transfer from PC, files too large

Newbie
Just got my note 2 and started transferring files. I never realized that the 7000 photos I had on my 16GB iphone won't fit, because the note2 doesn't "optimize" or shrink the photos like itunes did.

What's the easiest way to batch shrink the pics and also what is the best resolution for a 5.5" 720p screen?

You can download a batch resizer...there's quite a few available for free online.
I'd say photo height should be 720pp or its multiples...so you don't have to scroll to view the entire picture.

Haven't got to buying the sd card yet. Can I use a 64 with the 16GB version or will it only go up to 64GB total?

Keeping all my photos on the phone is a habit from itunes synching. Never realized there were 40GB of them haha.

Thanks for the help guys... android newbie here.

I use FastStone Photo Resizer FastStone Photo Resizer - Powerful Image Converter/Resizer to resize all the pictures I put on my phone (even if I put them on a 64GB micro SD card).

One other thing that you might run into since you are coming from an iPhone is picture size in e-mails. The iPhone will ask you what size you would like to send (in a very vague non-technical way). If you want a similar feature (so you aren't sending 5MB size pictures to people), you can use Image Shrink Lite https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.anolivetree.imageshrinklite&hl=en
When you "share" a picture, instead of choosing your e-mail program choose image shrink lite and choose from the many dimensions available. Then after that it will let you pick your e-mail program and send from there.
I am assuming the Note 2 doesn't offer resizing built-in. My Note 1 doesn't. Another 1.5 weeks until my Note 2 comes (ATT).

The card will give out an additional 64gb for music, pictures and video. You can also try using photobucket or another cloud based photo/video service.
