Photo transfer (not all transfer)

Today I did the Samsung smart switch from my old s8 plus to a new s8 plus. Everything went great except I'm missing 300 out of 1300 photos from my old phone.

I tried seeing if I can move them onto my PC and transfer but the only folder with pictures is the DCIM folder and that isn't showing the missing pictures. Yet they are on the old phone?

Any help is appreciated.

Why aren't you using Google photos?
It'll save all of your photos to your Gmail account and you can access them on any device, always.
You won't have 300 missing photos either...

Well it really depends on how these photos or pictures are stored. The DCIM folder only caters to photos or pictures taken by the phone's camera and the default camera app of your device. If you're fond of using third party applications such as Camera 360 or VCSO, the data would be stored in a different directory. You might want to browse through some folders when you connect the device to your computer.

You can also search file types on your device using a computer to ensure that you see all pictures stored locally on your phone. Just type the file type usually '.jpeg'.

How do you put photos from e5 onto goggle then?
you just need to either install google photos or sign in to google if you already have the photos app. once it syncs up with your google account it should automatically upload your photos for you. if not you can check your google photo's settings. i have mine set to automatically syn when on wifi. so that if i take a photo or two when i'm out an about and if my phone is already on wifi it will do it automatically. it works out great as soon as i'm back from work at my house, i can just hop on my computer and my photos i took that day are accessible on my computer without hooking up cables from my phone to pc.
