Photo Transfer

Hallo everyone I have a Problem,I try to transfer my Photos from my Samsung Galaxy Nexus to my Mac Computer but it does not work can anyone help me?best regards Harry

Hello and welcome aboard. Thanks for joining the forum, Harry.

I hope the below will help.

Here is what you would need to do:

1. Connect your phone (with the supplied USB cable) to your computer.
2. Some phones will actually tell you that you have connected your phone using USB and ask you what you want to do - if your's doesn't, then pull down the notification bar (from the top of the screen) on your phone.
3. Select connect as USB mass storage.
4. A message should then pop up on your computer telling you that a new USB device has been connected and ask you if you want to view the contents. If not, go to "my computer" and navigate to the external USB drive.
5. Once you start to look in the connected USB drive (which is actually the SD card on your phone), then you would need to look for one of the following folders "DCIM", "Camera", "Media"or something similar(these are just possibilities... on my phone it is "DCIM").
6. When you get to the correct folder, you should be able to browse through your photos and then copy them as normal.

Please note that this is all assuming you are using a windows computer.

Also, remember to stop by your device's area of support. :)

Hi there, I'm in a need of some help on this also...

I have a related issue, but using a Samsung Galaxy S3. I have had no trouble transferring photos from the phone to the computer using pretty much the same method Rush Lindsay describes in the previous response (cable connection, browse phone via My Computer), however now my computer is failing to detect my most recent photos. The phone shows these images in the gallery and the file details show that they are stored on the SDcard in the same directory as all my other photos, and the computer can still view and transfer all other photos I have taken.

I have also noted that my phone camera settings show the storage set as 'phone' and will not allow me to change this setting to anything else. I am assuming this might once have been set to SDcard but can't be sure.

Is the problem that there's a connection error between my phone and the SDcard, and therefore not refreshing on the computer to show the most recent photos (which are in fact stored on the SDcard as evidenced by the file details)? How would I troubleshoot this or any alternative causes to the problem?

Any help much appreciated,

Geordie

I just successfully uploaded from S3 to XP PC, and it appears that my experience differs a bit. When I plugged in the S3 via USB I got a "new hardware detected" bubble which was no help. Then I looked at the phone and nothing helped there until I saw a little USB symbol up in the Notifications at the top of the phone. Pulled that down and it led me to a choice of (I think) MTP or PTP. I changed what was checked to PTP and all the photos were able then to be uploaded to the PC in My Pictures. The other thing that was checked was evidently for files, and maybe I don't have any. I'm a new user, so that is possible. Hope this helps.
