Help Photos Delete Themselves

I have a Samsung Tab 4 and it decided to delete all my photos last week and then when I took some photos it would immediately delete them. This is confusing because I have about 2 gb of space left on the device and 4 on the SD card. Please help me.

How did you determine the photos are gone? (What app did you use to look for them). Maybe their directory is hidden from your media scanner (.nomedia file). Try looking around with a file explorer.

Also do you have any sync services set up for photos?

I was using both gallery and the system file explorer. I do not believe that I have any sync services

I can't imagine the phone deleting pictures. My hunch fwiw from a distance is that they are being stored somewhere different.

According to this page there are two possible locations for the Samsung tab to store photos, one on internal SD and one on external sd (if you've got one):

Can you double check both locations?

After that I'm pretty much out of ideas.
