photos downloaded from Note 2 to computer have less quality

Hello,

I have very high resolution and amazing colors photos taken with my Note 2 Samsung phone but when downloaded to my computer the resolution is less and the colors are worse. Any suggestion how to get the same quality photos to my computer. I have Windows 7 and Lenovo W530.

Thanks.

Your Note 2 screen is 5.6 inch. Your Lenovo screen is 15.6 inch. The difference in the surface area between the two screens are like the difference between the surface area of an apple and a watermelon. I want you to do the following fun experiment; Take a balloon, inflate it until it takes the size of an apple then draw a face on it and color it. look it it, it looks amazing right? now inflate it until it takes the size of a watermelon, now look at the face you drew on it, the resolution of it will be less and the colors will be worse! Got it? :)

Thank you for your response, but there is a difference in quality when comparing the pictures at the same viewing size: the computer one has darker medium dark and lighter or washed out lightest areas, and the colors are different than the phone picture, for example skin color is more reddish, etc.

When comparing two photos at the same viewing size on both devices they look different because your Note 2 screen is Super AMOLED while your Lenovo screen is LCD. Please Google "AMOLED vs LCD" to know the difference between the two types of screens.

Bottom line; downloading photos from Note 2 to computer does *not* affect their quality, the differences you noticed is due to the difference of the two screens types. If you delete the photos from your Note 2 and then upload them back from computer to Note 2 they will look exactly the same as the original ones.

Thank you again. Is there a screen or device that one can download the photos from the phone onto it and have the same image characteristics and display quality as the phone?

Yes, there's another device that has the same display quality as Note 2; it's another Note 2 :)

Seriously, it's very hard to find a computer display that has the same display quality as a smartphone like Note 2 for two reasons; 1) The viewing distance of a phone is usually less than ten inches, while it's about five feet for a computer display (depending on its size). So an LCD computer display with 100 ppi is equivalent to an AMOLED phone display with 270 ppi. That's why they don't make computers with high resolution display. 2) If they make such display they would cost much higher and would be aimed for professional users only, and that's not how market works!

If you insist, the best computer I can think of right now is MacBook Pro with Retina display. An eagle eye like yours would be satisfied enough with it, but hey, it will cost you more than $3K!
