I just bought my Galaxy tablet and have been taking pictures with it, trying out the camera. I have been frustrated that maybe one in 10 pictures become corrupted where part of the picture becomes gray lines. I am saving the pictures directly to the device (no SD card) and the pictures also appear corrupted on my laptop when I view them. I downloaded another camera app which seems to work fine but it is not as easy as the original Samsung app. Any ideas for me?

That is not my experience. I downloaded photos from my camera's card and edited on my tablet. Plus, have taken some with the Tab 3. No corruption. Maybe your camera app is bad or you have a hardware issue. Trouble shoot it with Samsung. If still under warranty, take it back to where you purchased it.
